The symbolism of the human being with the animal has always been represented everywhere in the world: in mythology, in astrology, in art and is a theme often present in the religious art of any culture.

On this occasion, my research met the interest of a company very attentive to art such as Trend Mosaici by Pino Bisazza.

The word zodiac derives from the Greek word zoidiacos which means “circle of figures” that comes from the word zoidion which means “little animal”.

The exhibition features 12 mosaic paintings depicting the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac. The mouse, the cow, the tiger, the rabbit, the dragon, the snake, the horse, the sheep, the monkey, the rooster, the dog and the pig.

Each painting is a portrait in itself, with a gradation and color tone different from each other.

The choice of colors is a very important element of the project, in this expressive context. It is through the project of color that it is possible to give just aura and character to each animal, which lives in its own absolute context.

Mosaic tesserae return the same effect as modern computer colors. It is interesting how a technique as old as that of the mosaic is parallel and relational with such a modern technique.
